About this deal

We all love game night, and we all have our favourite games but do love discovering new games to play. With evidence cards to help you piece together the clues, this game is sure to provide plenty of fun and intrigue. I personally haven't listened to the podcast so I don't know much about it but I wanted to give the game a try as I like crime and mystery games.

And you can solve a different crime, with the same victim, every time you play and have a different outcome.Suddenly, it hits you as if Colonel Mustard’s just clocked you over the head with a candlestick in the library: this is just a glorified game of Happy Families with a decidedly derivative lick of paint. The result of this will cause them to reveal a certain card to all players helping them out, or if they are lucky and roll an X, they can do nothing.

But if you get even one of the four components wrong, you’ll be irreversibly eliminated from the round (which may be more desirable than you’d think; more on this later). Wealthy businessman Casey Parker has been murdered, and it’s the responsibility of you and your team mates to solve the case. Place the main board and dice into the centre of the table, then separate the deck of cards into the five types.I did go through an odd, out-of-body moment amid the mind-numbing experience that was Case File, when I half-wondered if, peeking through, like a prisoner through cell bars, was some semblance of a meaningful decision.

Can you piece together the evidence to figure out who did it, how they did it, and most importantly, why? And the interaction between players, trading evidence, tricking others with false evidence, and mixing things up with the cards you can play, is a lot of fun. I like the challenge of trying to eliminate as many pieces of evidence as quickly as possible, and trying to get to a point where you can make an educated guess as quickly as possible. Later, I have the evidence they’ve just asked about, but I drew it last round so no one else has seen it; should I hold off revealing that I have it, or will the other players do the same, allowing the active player to draw a card for free and gain an edge anyway?Game includes: 1 Casefile Gameboard, 4 Case Trackers, 4 Dry-Erase Markers, 44 Cards, 1 Deception Die, 1 Confidential Folder, and Complete Instructions.

But thankfully there is lots of evidence for the detectives (the players) to find and decipher to unmask the killer, bringing them to justice.

Using 44 beautifully illustrated cards, players take turns trading evidence to get closer to the truth. Can You Piece Together The Evidence To Figure Out Who Did It, How They Did It, And Most Importantly, Why? Be the first detective to solve this crime by correctly naming the suspect, weapon, motive, and location of Casey’s murder and bring the killer to justice! The idea is to collect or eliminate enough pieces of evidence by asking questions, trading evidence cards and leading other players down the wrong path, to make an educated guess to who the killer is, where the murder happened, what weapon was used to commit the murder and what the motive was. Some more expansive titles even require multiple ‘practice’ or ‘open-hand’ sessions to parse everything.
