About this deal

It is a beautiful read and at times I found myself with tears of joy as I reflected on how much Jesus loves and cares for everyone. Looking through their eyes, we see a man who valued women of all kinds— especially those vilified by others. International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions. But even if we limited our scope still further and only kept the parts of Jesus’s life that were witnessed by women named Mary, we’d lose very little!

McLaughlin has spent plenty of time considering the cynic’s vantage point, with books that include Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion in 2020 and The Secular Creed: Engaging 5 Contemporary Claims in 2021. Herein is instruction and encouragement for women and men alike seeking to live as brothers and sisters in God’s family. Bailey examines the life and ministry of Jesus with attention to the Lord’s Prayer, the Beatitudes, Jesus’ relationship to women and especially Jesus’ parables. I wouldn’t say it’s light, but it’s fairly brief, and thus stimulates my interest for a more in-depth study such as Gospel Women by Richard Bauckham.

In Jesus through the Eyes of Women, Rebecca McLaughlin explores the life-changing accounts of women who met the Lord. What if you had walked beside the Virgin Mary from the Annunciation to the point at which she and Joseph found Jesus in the temple?

I greatly enjoyed Rebecca’s knowledge and explanations around the gospel story’s focused on in this book. Some read the story of how some of the women interacted with Jesus and make the false assumption that women were there to just keep house for the men. As we see Jesus through the eyes of these female disciples, "we see him as the one who welcomes women and defends their right to learn from him.We further deny the goodness and benefit of any application of AI that devalues or degrades the dignity and worth of another human being. Fitting for the holiday season, Chapter 1 looks at Prophecy and the important roles that Mary, Elizabeth, and Anna play in the Christmas story. Richard Schumach considers what Muslims believe about Jesus; what history can tell us about Jesus; where Muslims (and Christians) get their beliefs from; and why Jesus makes sense in Christianity, but not in Islam.
